Nightmare Balloon Boy is a hallucination that appears in the video game Five Nights at Freddy's 4 (FNAF). He is a nightmarish version of the original Balloon Boy character from Five Nights at Freddy's .
Nightmare Balloon Boy replaces the PlushTrap mini-game on night and can be found in the Fun With Plushtrap minigame, if the player fails in said minigame. He's smaller than other nightmare animatronics, but still possesses a menacing appearance with sharp teeth and glowing eyes.
Unlike other nightmare animatronics in FNAF, Nightmare Balloon Boy doesn't jumpscare the player in the traditional sense. He simply appears in the room, and if the player gets too close, they will fail the minigame and be subjected to a regular jumpscare. His presence increases the difficulty and anxiety of the minigame.
